The Moto 360 – The Smartwatch We’ve Been Waiting For

The Moto 360 is one of the best attempts at a SmartWatch yet. SmartWatches are notorious for looking like calculators on people’s wrists but Moto 360 is one of a kind. When it comes to design, the Moto 360 is a winner. The great thing here is that it is circular and actually looks like a normal watch. The screen is made of Gorilla Glass and we have stainless steel for body. It also has a Horween leather band which can actually be replaced.

The Moto 360 does have a circular display but there is a small problem: there is a little disruption at the bottom which a lot of people seem to really hate but when you actually use the device, it really doesn’t get in the way. This has been done to house the ambient light sensor and presumably for the screen drivers. The only other alternative was to have a big bezel all around the screen and I think this disruption is a much better option.

On the back of the watch you can see all the features written out, which include the heart rate monitor and wireless charging. You will have to charge it pretty much every day for the most part. Luckily Motorola included a little cradle that you just set the watch on and it is automatically charged by induction. It actually looks really good on your nightstand. The battery life is about 18 hours and so, you will have to charge it everyday. If you turn on every single feature, be prepared to charge it more than once before the end of the day.

The Moto 360 also has by far the best watch faces available and you can actually customize the default one using the Moto Connect app on Android. You will surely find yourself color coordinating the faces to what you will wear for the day.

Smartwatches are a bit of a confusing technology right now and for a lot of people, wearing something that looks classy but also gives them extra functionality is a huge win. I think this is why the Moto 360 is being given so much praise. This watch isn’t perfect by any means but it is a decent first attempt and I can’t wait to see what Motorola comes up with the next versions.
